METROLINX, the railway infrastructure owner, has informed VIA Rail of upcoming work on the tracks on which we operate as part of their infrastructure maintenance program taking place on the following dates:

  • March 21-22
  • May 23-24
  • May 30-31
  • October 17-18
  • October 24-25
  • December 5-6

To avoid cancelling its services, VIA Rail has been given permission to operate on a detour route, which consequently is expected to increase our usual run time near Toronto. Furthermore, no service will be offered to or from the Oakville station, passengers with existing reservations will be transferred to Toronto.

Our train schedules on the dates listed above have been adjusted to account for these modifications. Please note that delays may occur above and beyond this modified schedule.

A s a result of this maintenance program, we have also had to modify the schedule of train 668 travelling on every Sunday listed above.

Details:

  • Trains 71, 73, 75, 79, 83 and 97: schedule adjusted for departure and arrival at all stations (except departure time from Toronto).
     
  • Trains 70, 72, 76, 78, 82 and 98: schedule adjusted for arrival in Toronto only.
     
  • Train 668 on Sunday only: schedule adjusted for departure and arrival 40 mins later at all stations (no impact to duration of trip as train is not going on the detour).

You may consult the adjusted schedules below. Passengers with existing reservations will receive updated boarding passes displaying the revised departure/arrival times.
