METROLINX, the railway infrastructure owner, has informed VIA Rail of upcoming work on the tracks on which we operate as part of their infrastructure maintenance program on November 8th, 9th and 10th, 2024.
This program will have an impact on certain VIA Rail trains travelling on November 9th and 10th, as well as train 669 on Friday, November 8th.
To avoid cancelling our services, VIA Rail has been given permission to operate on a detour route, which consequently is expected to increase our usual travel time between the stations of Toronto and Oshawa. Furthermore, no service will be offered to or from the Guildwood station on November 9th and 10th.
Our schedules have been adjusted to account for the modifications caused by this detour. Please carefully consult the updated schedules listed below. If you have a connection that will no longer be possible, or if you have a reservation to/from Guildwood, we will reach out to you by email or phone to provide options.
