METROLINX, the railway infrastructure owner, has informed VIA Rail of upcoming work on the tracks on which we operate as part of their infrastructure maintenance program on November 14th, 15th, and 16th 2025.
This program will have an impact on certain VIA Rail trains travelling on November 15th and 16th, as well as train 669 on Friday, November 14th.
To avoid cancelling our services, VIA Rail has been given permission to operate on a detour route, which consequently is expected to increase our usual travel time between the stations of Toronto and Oshawa. Furthermore, no service will be offered to or from the Guildwood station on Saturday and Sunday.
Our schedules have been adjusted to account for the modifications caused by this detour. Please carefully consult the updated schedules listed below.
Note:
- If you have a reservation to or from Guildwood, you will be transferred to Toronto.
- Passengers with a connection that will no longer be possible (listed here under Cancelled connections), will be transferred to the next available connection (listed under New connection).
- If, due to the station at which you are boarding or detraining, the new connection is not possible, we will reach out to you by email or phone.
