METROLINX, the railway infrastructure owner, has informed VIA Rail of maintenance work on the tracks on which we operate as part of their infrastructure maintenance program. This will render the Guelph subdivision inaccessible on the following dates:

  • March 28-29
  • April 18-19
  • May 16-17-18
  • July 25-26
  • August 15-16
  • September 12-13
  • September 19-20
  • October 3-4
  • October 31, Nov 1st
  • November 14-15

For this reason, trains 84 and 87 will be replaced by buses. Passengers travelling from London to Toronto (and vice versa) will be transferred to the next available train, and all other passengers will be transferred to a bus.

Furthermore, there will be no service at the Malton station. Note that travel by bus can take longer than travel by train. The bus will try to follow the train’s schedule as much as possible, but delays are possible due to reasons such as road conditions.

  • In an effort to improve the on-time performance of the buses, they will not stop in Malton, ON.
  • The sale of snacks and beverages will not be available during the trip. Passengers will be provided with a light complimentary snack and a bottle of water. We suggest planning accordingly.
  • Travel credits will not be offered on this occasion for delays or alternate transportation.

Missed connections

The connection from train 84 to train 44 is cancelled

All other connections will remain guaranteed. In case of delays, you will be transferred to the next available train or offered alternate transportation if no trains are remaining.
