METROLINX, the railway infrastructure owner, has informed VIA Rail of upcoming work on the tracks on which we operate as part of their infrastructure maintenance program. This program will be taking place in the coming months and rendering the Guelph subdivision inaccessible on select dates.

For this reason, our services will be modified and trains 84 and 87 will be replaced by a bus on the following dates in 2025:

  • July 26th and 27th
  • September 6th and 7th
  • September 20th and 21st
  • October 18th and 19th
  • November 1st and 2nd
  • November 8th and 9th
  • November 15th and 16th
  • November 29th and 30th
  • December 13th and 14th

Furthermore, there will be no service at the Malton stations on the dates listed above.

Although the work on the tracks is outside of VIA Rail’s control, please rest assured that we have worked at measuring all available options to mitigate and minimize any inconvenience on our passengers.

Service modifications

Passengers who were travelling on train 87 from Toronto to London

  • Passengers are transferred to train 75 departing Toronto at 17:22 and arriving London at 19:47. Click here to view the schedule of train 75.
  • New boarding passes will be sent by email.

Passengers who were travelling on train 87 to any destination other than London

  • Passengers will be accommodated on a bus.
  • New boarding passes will be sent by email and seat selection will not be available
  • Business class passengers will receive a partial refund, as business class service will not be offered on the bus.
  • Present yourself to the VIA Rail station with your train ticket before departure.
  • These buses will stop at all VIA Rail train stations along the route.
  • The original schedule will be respected as much as possible.
  • In an effort to improve the on-time performance of the buses, they will not stop in Malton, ON.
  • The sale of snacks and beverages will not be available during the trip. Passengers will be provided with a light complimentary snack and a bottle of water. We suggest that passengers plan accordingly.
  • Travel credits will not be offered on this occasion for delays or alternate transportation.

Passengers who were travelling on train 84 from London to Toronto

  • Passengers are transferred to train 72 departing London at 10:41 and arriving in Toronto at 13:05. Click here to view the schedule.

Passengers who were travelling on train 84 boarding any station other than London

  • Passengers will be accommodated on a bus.
  • New boarding passes will be sent by email and seat selection will not be available

Missed connections

The connection from train 84 to train 44 is cancelled

The connection time in Toronto will be 1 hour and 54 minutes.
